Located with easy access to restaurants, Jubilee Square and Jetty, museums, Long Beach and Boulder's Beach. By day, there is a yarn store upstairs and decor store downstairs.

This tranquil, spacious room awaits you after a wonderful day of penguin spotting, beach hopping, local food venues, history tours, or whatever takes your fancy!

The guest area also includes a covered patio area.
The balcony may also be enjoyed during yarn store hours.

The space
Jubilee House was built in 1826 and enlarged in 1913. It has a rich history, including having been the first school on the Cape Peninsula.

It has also been occupied by municipal offices, was the “Simon’s Town Chambers”, Jutta’s pharmacy and was owned by the Patel family who lived upstairs and ran their business downstairs.

The whole building has a very tranquil feel. Once the hustle and bustle of the day has past, a peaceful haven from the day’s activities awaits.

The bed’s headboard has been repurposed from once being an original municipal cubical panel. The pressed tin ceilings and wooden floors are beautiful features.

Guest access
Guests have access via the main entrance to the building. Once up the stairs, there is a passage, leading to the spacious private bedroom with kitchenette and bathroom.

Guests also have access to the semi-outdoor covered patio area in the middle of the building with a table, chairs and basin for washing up dishes. This area has good lighting for dining and/or playing games in the evenings.

During the day when the yarn store (at the front of the building) is open, guests are also welcome to enjoy the balcony which has a table, chairs and shade umbrella.

Please note that this is a heritage building with high ceilings on the ground and first floor, so the room has access is via a fairly long staircase.

We are right opposite Jubilee Square with easy access to restaurants and attractions. Chat with us about our favorite restaurants!

Long Beach Simon's Town is 1.1km / 15 mins walk (turn left out of the door)
Boulder's Beach is less than 2km / 25 mins walk (turn right out of the door)

We are 110m from Cape RADD (Research And Diver Development) and 210m from the Simon's Town yacht club. South African Maritime Training Academy (SAMTRA) is 1.2km (15-17 mins walk) from our building.
