Beautiful area
Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Perched among treetops with sweeping views of the Knysna Estuary, The View is a timber cottage where forest meets sky. An open-plan living space with king bed (two mattresses), fold-out sofa, and a kitchenette with estuary-view breakfast bar. A large covered veranda with lounge seating, dining table, and charcoal braai. Open-air bathroom with freestanding bath and double vanity. Dark timber, slate floors, open, airy! Sleeps 3.
The space
The View — A Treetop Retreat Above the Knysna Estuary.
Perched high among the indigenous forest canopy, The View is an architect-designed timber cottage where the boundary between indoors and outdoors dissolves. Wake to sweeping panoramas of the Knysna Estuary and the Heads framed by floor-to-ceiling windows — from your bed.
One half of this elevated platform is a generous open-plan living space: a king-sized sleeping area (two singles placed together for cloud-like comfort), a cosy sofa that folds out for a third guest, and a fully equipped kitchenette with rich timber countertops, two-plate stove, microwave, bar fridge, and four stools at a window bar where every meal comes with an estuary view.
The other half is pure Garden Route living — a large private covered veranda with a comfortable lounge set, four-seat dining table, and charcoal braai for long evenings under the trees. Step through to a striking open-air bathroom with freestanding bath, double vanity, and forest glimpses through bamboo-lined walls. Air conditioning keeps things perfect year-round.
Dark timber interiors, slate floors, and warm natural textures give The View the feel of a luxurious forest hideaway — intimate yet airy, rustic yet refined. Below, a terraced garden of olive and lemon trees completes the picture.
This is a place to slow down, breathe deep, and let the estuary do the talking.

My work: Retired
We currently live and work in Cape Town South Africa, in the hospitality industry. My wife and I love exploring whenever the opportunity arrises. We recently cycled across the US over a three month period, West to East Coast, and loved every moment! Especially our Airbnb stays. Meeting people and sharing travel stories definitely the highlight of our travel experiences. We love animals, cats in particular, and the only downside of not staying home, is missing our adorable cat!
