Sugarbird is a bird’s paradise, situated on a quiet cul-de-sac, mere minutes from the Knysna Estuary and the Central Business District. Surrounded by trees and with stunning views towards the Knysna Heads, Sugarbird is a cut above the rest. Spacious and light filled, large outdoor deck with your own dinning & BBQ area, with private and secure parking on the premises.

Note: we are off-grid, both water and electricity - and therefore not affected by load-shedding or municipal issues - in general!

The space
The apartment has a bedroom with en-suite bathroom and large, light filled open plan kitchen and living room, leading out onto a large deck with expansive views of Knysna lagoon.

The bedroom has two single beds, mosquito net and built-in closets.

The living room has an AC/heating unit, dinning table, sofa and reclining chair, TV and large windows facing the garden in the back and estuary to the front.

The kitchen has a two-plate gas burner stove top, toaster, microwave, Nespresso machine, kettle and filter coffee plunger.

The outside area has a 6-person picnic table on a hardwood deck, overlooking the estuary. String lights to light up your evenings.

You have access to a laundry room with a washing machine and dryer through a separate entrance.

Guest access
Park below the property within a gated, secure parking area. Steps lead up to the apartment. The staircase is fitted with a light switch accessible both from the bottom step and the top step, ensuring light at night.

Other things to note
The stairs leading up to the cottage might be a challenge for some guests. You're welcome to use the second entrance gate and drive up to the front door. This driveway is steep, including a sharp narrow bend and we therefore only recommend using it if the stairs are too difficult.

Our aim is to ensure you have the best possible stay with us. Even so we try to ensure your full privacy, please note that we live upstairs and you might notice our movements. We have a cat which might visit. Please send it on its way if you don't want it near and please don't feed it!

We currently live and work in Cape Town South Africa, in the hospitality industry. My wife and I love exploring whenever the opportunity arrises. We recently cycled across the US over a three month period, West to East Coast, and loved every moment! Especially our Airbnb stays. Meeting people and sharing travel stories definitely the highlight of our travel experiences. We love animals, cats in particular, and the only downside of not staying home, is missing our adorable cat!
