Field crutches, near Ulrichstein, is a small, non-touristic, very quiet place near the highest mountain in the Vogelsberg, the Hohenrodskopf, 4 kilometers away. There is not only a magnificent panoramic view, but also a well-furnished restaurant with excellent cuisine that offers some attractions, such as a summer toboggan run, a climbing forest, or treetop trail. There are of course also many hiking trails, including a volcanic hiking trail.
